Hospital Scheme provides comprehensive coverage.

Additionally, each member can choose to add complementary services.

Coverage includes private, first-class inpatient rooms, with bed and breakfast for an accompanying guest (unless otherwise specified in existing agreements).

Insurance covered by Banco de Seguros del Estado (BSE).

Main features of the coverage:

Expenses related to scheduled (inpatient) surgical procedures that may be performed in Uruguay or abroad.
Up to US$ 1,000,000 for hospitalisation and expenses in surgical procedures and up to US$ 100,000 for oncological treatment.
Plans with deductibles of US$ 5000 and US$ 10,000.
Assistance service for an accompanying person of US$ 200 per day for up to 30 days.
Coverage is provided through prior coordination with BSE, which pays costs directly. Reimbursement is not applicable.
Antenatal coverage (upon the mother’s request) without exclusions if the mother has been insured under this policy for at least 10 months prior to birth.
Maximum age for enrolment: 60 years.
Pre-existing conditions are fully or partially excluded from this coverage.
The complete and signed sworn statement must be submitted at our offices together with the SQ letter and photocopy of the applicant’s identity card.

How to request coverage:

Coverage requires only a medical indication for a surgical procedure or oncology treatment. Present yourself at the Hospital Scheme Membership Department to coordinate the necessary arrangements.

Assistance abroad will only be covered if it is pre-authorised and coordinated with the Customer Service office, and subsequently approved by the BSE.

Travel Insurance, provided by MAWDY Uruguay, offers several plans according to the type of travel and coverage you wish to purchase.

Outpatients can access their prescribed medicine through an optional co-payment system.

Funeral coverage is provided by Previsora Martinelli.

Main features of the coverage:

Best plan provided by the company.

Includes premium service, two newspaper notices (two-column format), and a wreath.

Immediate benefits for new members of Hospital Scheme.

Waiting periods for funeral coverage: 3 months membership for members up to age 50, 6 months membership for members up to age 65, 10 months membership for members up to age 75, 15 months membership for members up to age 89, and 20 months membership for members from age 90 onward.

Direct family members who are not Hospital Scheme members are also eligible (parents up to 55 years old, spouses, children and siblings).

Cremation services are available through Previsora Martinelli within the coverage, with an additional fee (age limit 74 years).
