The Digestive Endoscopy department is under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniel Taullard and a team of highly acknowledged and trained professionals.
Its mission is to diagnose and treat diseases of the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, colon, bile and pancreatic ducts.
The service has state-of-the-art equipment and technology for the diagnosis and treatment of gastric diseases.
The unit has video endoscopy equipment with a system for magnification and electronic modification of images that improves visualisation and thus the diagnosis of digestive tract lesions.
The equipment enables to take tissue samples for biopsy and to carry out therapeutic procedures to treat diseases that previously required surgical treatments. This gives flexibility to surgical procedures.
This requires ongoing training in order to keep up with the constant innovation of these techniques.
