The Emergency Department at the British Hospital works under the TRIAJE system where care is classified by the severity of the patient’s condition.
A qualified Nurse assesses the situation and the patient is directed to the corresponding area.
The A&E has internal medicine doctors and paediatricians on duty 24 hours a day, as well as specialists in surgery, gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, otolaryngology and back-up professionals in the rest of the specialities.
A&E has a specific area reserved for the little ones with a low-complexity condition where they can play while waiting. It is designed for children to wait until they are called in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
