Today, is worldwide celebrated the World No Tobacco Day, aiming to strengthen the accomplishment of policies which take action to the detriment of tobacco consumption. According to data from the World Health Organization, smoking is the main leading preventable cause of death in the world. This year, the WHO together with Marco´s Agreement Secretary for the Control of Tobacco are doing a call for all countries to prepare them for the plain packaging of tobacco products. "The plain packaging is an important measure of demand reduction that reduces the attractiveness of tobacco products, restricting the use of tobacco packages as backing to promote and advertise tobacco, limiting packaging and misleading labeling besides increasing the efficiency of health warnings" states the WHO. In the British Hospital we are also concerned and taking care of this problem, and on this day of raising awareness we would like to invite you to know our Tobacco Cessation Polyclinic, feel free and show yourself as an ex-smoker.
