This year the World Diabetes Day is celebrated under the motto “Be careful with diabetes” as regards the vision` problems that this disease may cause. In this context, and motivated by the importance of educating our members on the issue of health, the British Hospital organized the following activities: 14.11.16 >>From 10 am to 4 pm: Blood pressure and blood glucose test inquest will be done at the Main Polyclinic Hall and at Carrasco Polyclinic by the Graduate in Nursing and the Graduate in Nutrition. 16.11.16 >>4:30pm: adolescents who are being treated by the diabetes team will be invited to an educational group activity called "Carbohydrates´ Control”. >>6:30 pm.: aimed at our hospital members, will be carried out the workshop on “Control, detection and diabetes` risks, and the eye condition of the diabetic patient”. The workshop will be addressed by Drs. Silvia García (diabetologist) and Magdalena Fornella (ophthalmologist) and the following issues will be discussed: Diabetes influence, control and detection: -Risks (myths and realities) -Eye disease of the diabetic patient.
