In harmony with its ongoing policy of health education and prevention and to contribute to the acquisition of healthy eating habits in children, the British Hospital added to the Food Revolution Day the international initiative, led by the british chef Jaime Oliver. Each may the Food Revolution Day is internationally celebrated , under the motto "Fighting for Food Education". The initiative, internationally led by Oliver, reaches hundreds of cities of nearly one hundred countries. In Uruguay the British Hospital has joined the initiative with a proposal called Aliment-Art, which shares the art of gastronomy with an artistic expression through plastics. We work with food of different colors and textures, all of vegetable origin, in order to promote the consumption of fruits and vegetables, and make and create at home. "Food Revolution Day is part of an international campaign, which works on the prevention and promotion of healthy habits of consumption, mainly aimed at children," explained the Head of the Department of Nutrition and Diet Therapy of the British Hospital, Ms. Alejandra Amestoy. She explained that it is about" revalue the consumption of homemade food and everything that has to do with the culinary art, from the food origin to the process of it." The first edition of Aliment-Art was held last Thursday 19th and it will continue to the 26th and to the 2nd and 9th of June.
