On the 2nd, the 3rd and the 4thof April, the First Congress of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation took place along with the First National Conference of Residents, together with the Sixteenth Congress of the SouthernCone in Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine, and the Twelfth Latin-American Society Meeting of Paraplegia. Around four hundred professionals dedicated to the Rehabilitation of various disciplines attended; as Physiatrists, Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Occupational Therapists, Urologists, Physiotherapists, Nursing, Nutritionists and so on. It was an excellent Congresswith the attendance of distinguished Foreign Colleagues, including a Neuroscience Researcher of the National Health Institute of the United States, Dr. Leonardo Cohen. All the Physiotherapy Department´s Technical Staff of the British Hospital took part. At the same time a work was presented by the Rehabilitation Knee Team of the British Hospital (Lic. Darío Santos y Guillermo Galín) Meanwhile Drs. Rosina Ríos and LigiaBacchetta (BH Physiatrists), won a prize and a special recognition for the presentation of their work exhibition on “Nerve Blocade” in kids). Dr. Tutté, also representing the British Hospital, shared with the audience in the auditorium her experience on using Shock Waves in Tendinitis. Dr. Laura De Castellet and Dr. Marta Arriola were members of the Scientific Committee. At the same time Dr. Mariana Arocena was invited to participate in the Evaluation Court. We wish to emphasize the presence of the Physiatry and Physiotherapy team of the British Hospital in this First National Congress, that continuous with enthusiasm the development of its discipline in order to offer a better attention every day.
