In the context of its updating policy and its professionals ‘continuous training, the British Hospital carried out with great success the Eighth World´s Conference Day of Neuroendoscopy. The activity which was performed on the 22nd and 24th of April, was supported by the World´s Federation of Neurosurgical Societies, by the International Federation of Neuroendoscopy, the Latin American Study Group of Neuroendoscopy, the University of Saint Luis, the Walter Dandy Society, the Medical University of Vienna and the Uruguayan Society of Neurosurgery. The aim of the meeting was to address the continual technological and scientific advance in this field, which at the same time requires the continuous updating of the professionals in relation to the procedures. "It is about deepen into the possibilities that the association offers between the multimodal neuronavegation and neuroendoscopy", mentioned Dr. Álvaro Córdoba. For this purpose, the Eighth Conference Day of Neuroendoscopy combined the theoretical enrichment with the practical ability, which took place in the School of Medicine ´s Anatomy Department of the Republic University, UDELAR. Prominent world leaders and national and foreign professionals in the field took part of the Conference ´s day promoting a high level of exhibitions and personal exchange. Together with other professionals Bernard Bauer´s presence was stood out, Honorary President of the International Neuroendoscopy Federation; Henry Schroeder, President of the Neureondoscopy Chapter of the Neurosurgical Societies´ World Federation; Shlomi Constantini and Spiros Sgouros, President and Vice-president respectively of the International Federation of Neuroendeoscopy; Saleem Abdulrauf, President and Vice-president respectively of the Latin American Study Group of Neuroendoscopy; Álvaro Córdoba, President of the Neurosurgical Societies´ World Federation, and Fernando Martinez, President of the Neurosurgery Uruguayan Society. Doctor Córdoba remembered that the British Hospital initiated the neuronavigation in Uruguay in the year 2012 and mentioned that its combination with neuroendoscopy makes it possible to make available to patients “two minimally invasive techniques” which resulted in more comfortable postoperative processes and lower risks of complications than in conventional surgery, supporting a quick recovery of the patient. In the last 25 years we managed to profit from neuroendoscopy, “a subspecialty that all surgeons should consider in their training”, stated Dr. Córdoba.
