Literary Workshop: Dante, his comedy and absolute balance

Like Don Quixote there are masterpieces that the authors begin without a precise or determined plan: they make a virtue of necessity, curling the loop of invention. But the Comedy belongs to another category: it is the result of Dante's planning and perseverance.

Exiled from Florence and condemned to the stake, he was even contumacious as he insisted on the unforgivable "mistake" of creating something deeply new and personal. Dramatic and dark in Hell, pictorial and melancholic in Purgatory and luminous and musical in Paradise, Comedy is the figure of absolute perfection.

Nothing is left over or missing in its tripartite structure and mathematical balance. The workshop "Dante, his Comedy and absolute balance" invites us to enter the unique Dantean universe and accompany the poet on his journey through the three otherworldly kingdoms.
