OCTOBER | Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In Uruguay, 5 new cases are diagnosed every day. One in eleven women could develop breast cancer throughout their life. 1% of the cases are diatgnosed in men. Source: Commission against Cancer.

 

Prevention is our responsibility.

In our Hospital, each employee is a spokesperson for prevention and health care. We inform and motivate those around us.

 

Regarding controls and modifiable risk factors: eating habits, smoking, alcohol consumption, overweight, sedentary lifestyle, among others.

With regard to the importance of self-knowledge of the breasts: knowing our body allows us to become familiar with its normal characteristics.
