Literary Workshop: Cervantes and Quixote

EVENT DATE:
25/10/2024

EVENT PLACE:
British Hospital

Understanding art as a means that enhances our health, we invite you to a literary workshop by Federico Arregui to explore the work of Cervantes and his Quixote.

Cervantes' posterity has been overwhelmingly Quixotic. Like an inverse Saturn that was devoured by his son, the universal diffusion of his novel has eclipsed the figure of the author.

We propose then a talk about the lesson that Cervantes leaves us by deciding to publish, at the age of 58, lacking money and fame, the first part of a novel that will forever change the course of universal literature.

Nearing 70 years of age, at the age when most people review what they have done, Don Miguel de Cervantes prepares to publish the second part of his novel and to die afterwards, perhaps without knowing it, but feeling that immortality was the only thing that could come to him.
