Continuing with our Robotic Surgery Program which was pioneered in the country with the Urology Department in 2012, we have updated our robotic surgery equipment and now have the cutting-edge VERSIUS model. Top of the range for achieving minimally invasive interventions.
The success story of robotic surgery in Urology has encouraged the Hospital to continue its Robotic Surgery Program, incorporating new specialties such as Gynecology and Surgery, in order to extend its benefits to new surgical treatments.
“Robotic Surgery has a prominent place in today's world and in our country it is essential that it is available and that its implementation continues to be deepened” mentioned Dr. Roberto Puente, Coordinator of the Hospital's Urology Department. The advancement of technology in surgery has marked a milestone in medicine, offering significant benefits for both patients and the healthcare team, allowing for improved 3D HD vision and delicate movements with greater flexibility and millimetric precision, which translates into safer procedures that entail less postoperative pain, benefit the recovery process and therefore facilitate the patient's reintegration into their usual activities.
“The incorporation of this cutting-edge technology in our Service will allow us to continue developing the already very high level of laparoscopic gynecological surgery. (…) We have everything to make the Hospital a national reference once again and lead the way at an academic and professional level” commented Dr. Gonzalo Sotero, Head of the Gynecology Department.
The first gynecological robotic surgeries in the country took place in our Hospital under the direction of Drs.Gonzalo Sotero and Juan Alvez, Heads of the Department of Gynecology and also the first Robotic Thoracic Surgeries in the country by the Thoracic Surgery team, led by Prof. Agdo Dr. Siul Salisbury and Prof. Agdo. Dr. Daniel Terra.
“I consider that making this technology available to more surgical teams is a very wise decision. Not only does it allow us to have world-class therapeutic equipment, but it also puts the Institution in a privileged local position since it is the only one in the private area that has this technology”, shared Prof. Agdo. Dr. Siul Salisbury.
This incorporation underlines our commitment to excellence in medical health care and to the adoption of technologies that improve the quality of life of our patients.
